Founder and President

Over 100 years ago, G.K. Chesterton observed, “We have come up with the greatest forms of communication in all of history precisely at the moment when we have nothing to say.” What was true then is more astonishingly true now. And while many good people have understandably given up on modern media altogether, we as faithful Catholics have a duty to rescue these powerful methods of communication by filling them with the Truth. As Chesterton says in his book on St. Thomas Aquinas, “There are no bad things, only bad uses of things.” Film, television, internet, and flashy new devices of transmission have all been used for bad things. Eternal Christendom is an especially good use of these things. It represents hope.

Dr. Dale Ahlquist is President of the Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton, creator and host of the EWTN series “G.K. Chesterton: The Apostle of Common Sense,” and Editor and Publisher of Gilbert magazine. He is the author of six books and editor of sixteen books, including the new annotated edition of The Everlasting Man. His hundreds of speeches and published articles have won him recognition as “probably the greatest living authority on the life and work of G.K. Chesterton.”

He is also the co-founder of Chesterton Academy, a top-rated Catholic classical high school in Minnesota, the flagship of the growing Chesterton Schools Network, which now includes over sixty schools in 24 states and three other countries.
